Livonia is easily accessible from I-96 and I-275. Free parking is available at the Embassy Suites. Carpooling is encouraged.
Transportation to and from Holy Dormition Monastery on Saturday afternoon will be provided from the Embassy Suites.
Modest dress is required at the monastery. Head coverings for women and long sleeves for men.
A modest registration fee of $50 for early bird and $75 for late bird will be required to attend. This helps cover the cost of meals, transportation to the monastery, and venue arrangements so we can offer a full, meaningful weekend experience for everyone.

This is YAM's first national retreat, and I couldn't be more excited to gather with you in Livonia. Whether you've been part of this community since day one or you're just discovering it, this weekend was built for you — a pilgrimage to Holy Dormition Monastery, time with Mother Gabriella, and the kind of fellowship that's hard to find anywhere else. A full Saturday afternoon at Holy Dormition Monastery — one of the most beloved Antiochian monastic communities in North America. Includes the Mother Gabriella keynote, Trisagion at the graves of Fr. Roman and Mother Benedicta and free time in the monastery and bookstore.
Saturday Afternoon
The retreat is anchored throughout in the Divine Services. Friday evening opens with Vespers and Artoklasia; Saturday begins with Matins and Liturgy led by Fr. Mark Sultani at the Embassy Suits; Saturday evening closes with Vespers again; and Sunday concludes at St. Mary Basilica for Orthros and Liturgy.
Fri, Sat & SunA keynote address by the Abbess of Holy Dormition Monastery — a unique opportunity to hear about the monastic life and matters of faith, vocation, and Orthodox young adult life.
Saturday at the Monastery
An open panel where attendees can bring their questions to the Abbess. A candid, intimate conversation about Orthodoxy, monastic life, and what it means to be a young adult in the Church today.
Saturday AfternoonWe are kicking off our retreat with a casual night out at Dave & Buster’s. This is a relaxing space to hang out, share a meal, and catch up with one another. Whether you want to play games in the arcade or just sit and talk, the focus of the evening is simply spending time together.
Friday EveningThis retreat is open to young adults (ages 18–35) from parishes within the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America. If you have questions about eligibility, please reach out — all are welcome.
There will be a reasonable registration fee for this retreat. Attendees are responsible for their own hotel accommodations. A group rate has been secured at the Embassy Suites — details are provided upon registration confirmation.
Modest dress is required out of respect for the monastic community. For women: long skirts or pants, covered shoulders. For men: long pants, no sleeveless shirts. Head coverings for women are encouraged inside the church. Please plan accordingly for Saturday's visit.
The first group dinner at Dave & Busters will not be provided. Every other meal throughout the weekend is provided as part of the retreat program. The Embassy Suites also includes complimentary breakfast for hotel guests. Dietary restrictions can be noted on your registration form.
Absolutely. Travel schedules vary and we accommodate all arrival and departure times. Please note your expected times in the registration notes so we can plan accordingly. We encourage attending as much of the program as possible.
